High school’s slowly settling in and I’ve realized how hard it is to keep in touch with old friends. Actually, it’s already pretty hard to keep in touch with people you don’t have classes with… From these few weeks, I’ve learned that it takes effort to stay in contact with the friends you really care about. It’s honestly pretty difficult because of the sleepless nights of homework and other things you’re involved in, so sometimes the best you can do is drop a “hi” here and there.
As for people that go to the same high school as you; if you don’t have classes together, that only really leaves you with lunch, a couple minutes before school, or a small conversation if you ever pass in the hallways. Then I start seeing the people I’ve always been used to being around less and less.
I suppose I understand why people say high school’s the time where you find your ”true friends.” I just miss how easy it was to talk to people when you wanted to. High school really makes you independent, man.
